Solidarity Socio-economy, a project for a different type of economy and a different type of globalisation. This launch text encourages to the participation in a workshop of the Alliance workgroup on Socio-economy, for a responsible, plural and solidarity world.

Résumé :

This text launches the debate on the role of solidarity socio-economy: is it a way of moderating social problems created by neoliberal globalization or does it have the potential of being a real path towards both participative and sustainable development?

The author of the text shows that more than simply being an initiative destined to improve life of the poorest, solidarity socio-economy is a project to create a different type of economy and a different type of globalization. The workgroup also tackles the role and responsibility of national states and global institutions for a more democratic and solidarity economy.
