FGTS - Warranty Fund for time of service

Résumé :

The article is an analysis, from a political point of view, of the proposal presented by the Brazilian government to the workers, for the payment of about US$ 20 billion dollars to the Fundo de Garantia por Tempo de Serviço (Fund of Warranty for Time of Service)/FGTS, due since 1990. The author considers that the responsibilities of the public debt represent a heavy pression on the government’s expenses and therefore constitute an obstacle to the payment of the debt to the workers.
